GRAPE & BLACKBERRY PATTERN ANTIQUE OIL LAMP
A sought-after mid 1800's hand lamp (small enough to be carried from room to room). The pattern of the opal glass base is called Blackberry; the font is GrapeBand, both made by the Hobbs Brockunier & Co. of Wheeling WV, between 1870-1880. It features a the patented (1870) Hobbs brass connector, and the opal glass base with Blackberries at each of the four corners. The burner is marked with several patent dates including Apr. 1877 and is in excellent condition and working order. The chimney is a new crimp top replacement. I can find no chips, cracks, contusions, splits or other imperfections. It is in remarkable working condition, especially considering it is 140 years old. The market price range shown is for the lamp alone, without an original burner and a chimney. Price = $156.00
